Nick,
Are M105 Compound and M205 Finishing Polish being phased out or totally replaced in favor of the new M110 & M210?

105 and 205 are here to stay.

That's good news; what's the use case then for 110 vs 105 (210 vs 105)? Or is this a "user preference" sort of thing, like when choosing your last step product?

Given the price points, I'd say if anything was going to be phased out, it would be M101. M110 is way more expensive than M100 or M105, so I would say they can all coexist...but M110 is coming in just slightly under M101...of course that doesn't mean that M101 is going anywhere, I'm just saying based on price alone I would say that M100 and M105 are in a different market and don't necessarily compete...I'm talking out in the world away from our little enthusiast circles. But of course I'm still waking up and maybe need more coffee.

If M110 finishes like Ultimate Compound does, when in many cases there's no polishing step needed - just straight to wax, it may really become everybody's favorite compound very quickly. From the product description it looks like new generation of SMAT.

Correct, 105 & 205 are not going anywhere. 110 & 210 are now our most premium professional compound & finishing polish we offer.

110 has less dust than 100, 101, & 105, easier wipe off, and longer working time. The most exceptional feature is it's ability to leave behind a virtually micro mar, haze, & tick free surface in many situations & on many paints.

You are on the right track, M101 Foam Cut Compound will likely be phased out.

In case I have not mentioned, this product & M210 will be in our Distribution Center, ready for distributor order, this coming Monday, November 5th. It should be available for end user purchase another week or two after that!

Do you think these will ever be available in the smaller bottle size like 105 & 205? Some of us don't polish as many cars as we used to.

Agreed!

Understood, but, I have not heard of any plans at this time to have smaller than 32oz sizes.

I'm glad to see (unlike M101) it is available in Gallon sizes!

M101 is a favorite of mine. I would hate to see it phased out. It is my go-to swirl killer!

I have yet to use M110 so I can't make any comparisons to M101 yet...but I do have M110 on order!

Any word on how M110 is regarding staining trim? I know the "official" word is likely to still tape off, but is it as bad as say M105 regarding staining?

I always get excited to try a new compound that doesn't stain because it saves me taping off... Until I have to use twice as many passes to get less of a result than m101/m105 would have gotten me in the first place.

We do not market that it does not stain trim, and I have not used it enough to comment on this. Once it gets out there, which is soon, we can see what others experience to our other products. I would imagine it will not be dramatically different.

Quick question, I see no mention if this product is OK to use by hand. I frequently use M105 by hand for nook and cranny areas that are very hard or impossible to hit by machine, and quick touch ups for scratches and scuffs where it's faster and more practical to simply rub the small area out by hand compared to breaking out the machine.

Yes, it can be applied by hand, d/a, or rotary.

Looking very forward to putting these new liquids through their paces!

P.S. I very much preferred the old flip top caps on the Mirror Glaze bottles...

I’ve been using D300 on microfiber cutting pads. Will 110 be an improvement?

I've done a few vehicles now with the M110 and M210 combo.
2016 Ford Mustang GT Gloss black with VERY soft OEM paint!

NOTE: The Before was a LOT worse than what it looks in this pic.

Thanks for sharing Merlin. Would be happy to hear what you think about the new 110/210.

This is the second (or third) vehicle I've used the M110/210 combo on. The first vehicle was this 2018 Jeep Compas Sport. Only three months old and swirled out!
She was so unhappy with her brand new vehicle she was days from trading it in. She hated it and said she could not stand looking at it. She said I saved her $30,000!
I will admit the combo does "behave" a little different than the usual compounds. It took me a bit to "dial in" but once you find the pad, product, process, it's a winner!

She said to me "It looks better than brand new!" She fell in love with the vehicle! (and thinks I walk on water)
It's quick, it works, and it wipes off easy. For me, the M110/M210 combo is knocking "BLACK" out of the park!

With the few vehicles, I have done with M110 I have found it cuts a lot better than D300 with the Megs microfiber cutting pads.
It does need a second pass with M210 to clean up the hazing left behind with the M110. M210 leaves a clear, glossy final finish.

Cut Max has more cut but it is also a diminishing abrasive. M110 uses SMAT abrasives. Both good compounds.

Icarus

A lot more or just a bit?

The Guz

It is not the answer you want to hear but the paint hardness is going to play a factor as well. My suggestion would be to try both and see which best suits your situation.
