Hello folks,

I’ve been lurking here for some time and I have learned a lot about how to care for the paint on my car (2004 Honda Accord V6 – graphite pearl). Right now my Meguiar’s products of choice include DC paint cleaner + #7 Show car glaze + #27 Hi-tech yellow. Thanks to all who provide assistance to amateur detailers such as me; hopefully I’ll have something helpful to add at some point. Anyway, I have a question for DA polisher users: I just purchased a porter cable sander, model #7336 I think. I have noticed that, as I power it down, the revolutions of the plate become less orbital and more “rotary.” This is just for about the last 4 or 5 seconds or so before it stops moving. Is this normal? Thanks for any input and have a nice day:)

Welcome to MOL! You have a good start on products and now a PC you are set!

My PC does a similar thing but to me it looks like its the momentum of the pad and backing plate carrying it around. Its easier for the pad to spin in a circle so I can see that continuing a little longer.... over I guess you might say the "Dual Action" since it is an orbital (kind of unbalanced) type motion.

Well anyway as you have already found out there is a lot of good info here.
