  • Ok to clay polish and wax chrome metal and plastic head/tail lights?

Just wondering because they need protection just like the paint it seems.

I don't know about chrome metal, but I clay/polish/wax my head/tail lights along with the paint and it works awesome.

      Hey,

Claying, polishing and waxing chrome are all important IMHO. If you take care of chrome, it will look fantastic for years!!

As for plastic however, I would use a dedicated plastic cleaner/polish like Meg's PlastX. Some plastics are very scratch sensitive and require a specialized product to take care of them. Further, when applying or removing PlastX from headlights or tail-lights, I like to use the best MF towels I have. Finally, to maintain the plastics, I like to apply a coat of Meguiar's M-1008 Clear Plastic Polish after every 3-4 washes. This will help to keep the lenses looking like new!
