Upcoming Body Work

How do I best prepare for body work? My car is in excellent shape otherwise. Should I just leave it up to the shop, or be proactive. The shop will fix a dent in the front of the hood, and paint scrapes on the fenders. They said they would prime, paint, and clear coat. Would it be a good idea to just clay? Clay and polish? Clay, polish and wax? Or do nothing?

Just thought of this - what about having them clear coat the entire car?
