  • Should use distilled water, drinking water (by reverse osmosis) or tap for diluting?

Just wondering if it matters because I've heard if there's too much junk in the water it could potentially damage the paint.

I use Distilled water. Not so much for any particular reason except for the fact that I needed Distilled for something last fall and bought a gallon. So since I already have it around, I use it and will likely continue to do so just so I have even more excuse to call myself anal.

I use tap water to dilute APC but distilled to dilute HyperDressing. I figure anything I use the APC on is going to get rinsed anyway (tires, carpet, wheel wells, etc) and I'm not rinsing with distilled water, so what the heck. Anything that gets a coat of HyperDressing will not get rinsed so, at least to my admittedly nutty brain, it makes sense to keep this "pure".

I like to use distilled water to dilute my products. There are a lot of chemicals in tap water (fluoride & chlorine just to name a couple) also some people have hard water which means sand/dirt/minerals in there too.

Personally, I'd rather not have the extra chemicals in there because I don't know how it could affect the chemicals in the cleaners and I definitely don't want any sand in my cleaners.

LOL trust me guys, I'm probably the most anal. Today I was just wondering because the water filter had something wrong with it and I didn't want to use the water that comes from the hose so I just used what my parent bought for drinking water till the water softener was fixed, aquafina, worked great! lol
btw I was the one that asked the stupid (kinda common sense) question.

Bah, we can all get a little nutty about this sort of thing, but erring on the side of caution is never a bad thing now, is it?
