    **Disk Drive Crash Causes Meguiar's Online to go Offline**

    Wednesday morning the disk drive that is responsible for the software that runs Meguiar's Online Discussion Forums suffered a fatal crash.

    A new disk drive has been installed, and the most recent back-up of the database has been loaded. Any new posts or new member registrations since the approximately 5-20-2004 have been lost. Any pictures loaded into the Gallery since 5-19-2004 have also been lost.

    We apologize for this disruption. A new disc drive has been installed, and a new back-up system is being put into place to insure this doesn't happen again.

    Thanks for the info Mike. I noticed the data loss and there were a lot of good posts lost. I also noticed the gallery images not current and will correct my stuff later today.

    I can't tell you how much I missed MOL during the week. My wife was telling me to go take a walk.

    Glad to have you back.

      Man, talk about withdrawal, I was checking every hour. Glad to have you back. We all have a lot of catching up to do.

        Really a bummer but, these things happen....

        And to think, we had 999 members when the crash occurred! 1 shy of 1k!!!

            Bad timing!

            I picked a really crappy time to upload my first set of photos and do an "extreme makeover" post!

            Gone! All gone.
            I'll try again with an abeviated version later this week.

              Sad, but now my I'm getting e-mail notifications for subscribed threads from MOL. This feature hasn't worked for me in months. Of course I'm no longer a Senior Member anymore either.

                there should be a disclaimer on your site ...

                warning... this site is habit forming...
                being unable to access it for more then 24 hours at a time can lead to seriouse withdraws....

                    I must have checked a dozen times, thanks for quickly getting things back and working again. I didn't realize how knowledge hungry I was for this stuff till it was gone.

                      I spent all this time trying to find some self help program to help ease the pain of withdraw of not being able to connect to Meg's.

                      Bad news is "there's nobody out there"
