South Orange County Rod and Customs Detail Day at Meguiar's!

We had a great group of cars come down today for class. Everybody came ready to learn to make their already beautiful hotrods even more beautiful.



It was a little cloudy out so it was tough to see a lot of the swirls on these cars. They all looked so great. We decided to pick on a Ford Mustang that needed some help to get a shine back.



We went through to steps by using hand applied products and we also tried the machine method. Both ways gave us phenomenal improvement on this neglected vehicle. When we were done it still needed some work but it helped.





One thing we did do was work on the headlights. As you can see here we had some yellow haze built up from age and neglect. It was time to pull out the Meguiars PlastX.

PlastX is very easy to use even by hand you can get great results. We taped off part of the headlight so we could see a good before and after. Here you can see me Appling the product to a foam High Tech Applicator Pad. Just a nickel size drop will do.



I begin working it in in a circular motion over the surface of the light. After a minute or so when the product starts to go clear I stop and then you can wipe it off. You can do several applications if you like. the more you do the better the results may be.



We remove the PlastX with a Supreme Shine Microfiber Towel.



You can already see a difference. Remember this is just what we did by hand. You could always try using PlastX with the D.A. Polisher for much better results.
