Do not use the squeak test.

I have tested all types of polishes, wax, sealants ON FRESHLY DETAILED VEHICLES by balling up a towel (100 cotton and micro) and twisting it on the finish.

Sometimes it squeaks and some times it doesn't. WHY IT DOES OR DOSN'T I DON'T KNOW.

I thought maybe i did not leave the wax on long enough to dry
or had not put enough on

I have also had paint squeak right after waxing.

I have had my finish fail the squeak test too! It happened after using MPPP. After the second coat it passed the squeak test. What does that mean? I'm not sure. Maybe it means 2 coats really are required. Maybe it means that yes, there is such a thing as layering.

Maybe the squeak test can only be performed after the wax or sealant has cured?

or maybe the squeak test is not an exact science?

to be sure, I always put on two thin coats of wax every three weeks.

As madsekci stated, I think there are variable to consider when doing the squeak test. I think the "Squeak" depends on the pressure being applied to the surface, how hard are you really pushing, and are you possible taking off some protectant?

well i just applyed 2 more coats on a small place
                and still got the squeak
What i did find out was that the micro cloth made it realy squeak
                with abit of pressure
other cloths where not as bad

The only squeak test I use is when I lift my 48 year old right arm above my head after a detail job, if it squeaks, I'll be sore tomorrow...if not, I'm happy !

The Squeak Test is to be done using a clean, soft 100% cotten towel.
