  • Mini Cooper S Checkmate!!!

    Hi All,

FINALLY i got around to doing it.

And am pretty happy with the results.

FIrst thanks to all who have answered my questions along the way and who have helped me through PMing (Octane Guy, Sneek, Magic, Jorge, Mike Phillips). It is really appreciated.

So here is what I did.

I did all the interior first.

    1. Rims and tires
    2. Wash with two bucket system and grit guard.
    3. Clay
    4. Wash
    5. DC 1 with PC - Removed by hand with MF
    6. Show Car Glaze 7 with PC - Removed by hand with MF
    7. NXT x 2 with PC and removed with PC and bonnet
    8. Trim and tire shine

    any suggestions for next time?

cheers and thanks for all the help. Here are some pics. And the pics don't really show on some of them how dirty the car actually was and how a piss poor job the dealer actually did, leaving wax residue everywhere. some spots i still haven't been able to reach.

    BEFORE SHOTS!!!

    AFTER SHOTS!!!

This SHOT was taken at night so the light/relfection is a little dark.

And that's not the paint that is messed up its just the wall. So no worries.

LEARNING TIP OF THE DAY FOR MYSELF. Wash rims on a REGULAR basis so they don't take A VERY LONG TIME...

THANKS AGAIN GUYS FOR ALL THE HELP!!!!

Looks good.. I guess you better detail your wall next

I feel you pain, my wheels seem like the simplest design, but they have the most annoying little nooks and crannies. I have ended up with both wheel brushes, several toothbrushes, and it still is the longest thing to do.

Looks great! As for the wheels, grab your bottle of NXT and apply a coat or two of it on the wheels. They'll clean up a lot faster next time around.

I have never had a car produce more brake dust on my wheels than my Mini did.

yep clean them with a rim cleaner( i am not sure if you need hot rims all wheel or the multipeice) then give them a good coat of wax

so we're talking NXT Wax and not the spray protectant eh.

yes because the protectant is for vinyl and rubber so you don't want to use it on you rims. the easiest way to get the multipeice is get in your new ride and drive down to the states, I tihnk they have some at Autozone
