      Amazing Experience

I was amazed at what happened when you used the smooth surface clay on my hood. Hands down the most informative and mind blowing car experience I have ever had. I couldn't wait to come home and tell my wife about it. I will defenately be back.

Mike, you state that the clear coat of the Saturn was in "stage II" of clear coat decline. What are the stages of decline? Is the next one cracking then peeling?

I'd assume, from the looks of it and from experience that the next stage is irreprable without the inclusion of a bodyshop repair.

          TIA, always!

            Also,

Are those Bose ceiling speakers in the 'training room/video room?'
Let me guess, Bose Model 32 in-ceiling speakers...

              3 Stages?

pcfxer, I thought Stage I would be "micro" cracking of the clear coat. Once cracked, moisture would be allowed in and would create larger cracks and a cloudy haze (Stage II). Then, possible contraction expansion due to the enviornmental elements would create flaking and peeling. I hope Mike responds soon.

Stage 1 of CC failure would probably be the little 'snowflake' pinpoint looking things that pop up.

Not that it matters, its all unfixable.

Happy to help Andrew, and I'm glad you got a chance to get your car in and worked on a bit. You should definitely go to more Wed. night sessions and get that little baby of yours done up! It's always great fun to see someone get excited about detailing, and even more fun to see the look on their face when they see how good their car can look!!

Dave will probably chime in on his own, but here's his usual routine,

                          Wash
                          Clay
Machine clean and polish with one of our cleaner/polishes
Machine apply wax, either NXT or M21
                          Wipe-off
                          Done

Yep! I wonder where I learned that from.

I have been experimenting with #21, at the open garages. Seems to spread easier and father by machine then NXT. Gloss and pop are even. Seems to stay "slicker" longer then NXT when I QD.

                            Thanks for the props!
