Mybenz.org Detailing Clinic in Malaysia!



On September 3rd, 2006 Hypercoat Enterprise (Malaysia) proudly hosted a detailing clinic for the Mybenz.org Club here at Carnauba Autospa - An authorized Meguiar's dealer.

One of the members' ride was chosen as a detailing demo car. This car was detailed by Carnauba Autospa, using Meguiar's Professional Mirror Glaze range of products such as M85, M83, M82 and NXT Tech Wax. Below are some preview photos. Please stay tuned to get more pictures processed and uploaded.

Before the demonstration was carried out, members gathered at the inspection bay for a group photo...



We have selected one of the members' ride for demonstration purpose...



There were plenty of bird droppings on the body and this is one of them...

The alloy wheels were initially coated with a thick layer of brake dust...



William started by hosing down the wheel to remove loose dirt and dust...



All Wheel Cleaner was sprayed all over the wheel and aggitated with the Meguiar's Ultra Safe Spoke Brush...



Hosing down again with water to flush away the gunk...



The result...



The owner was impressed and he wanted to get his hand dirty too...

William started to wash the car by hosing down with water to remove loose dirt, to reduce the chances of scratching the surface while washing...



Two-bucket method and proper shampoo measurement is essential for washing the car effectively...



Usually lower panels are dirtier than higher panels. Washing from top to bottom will also reduce the chances of scratching...

After the car had been washed and dried thoroughly, members are taught on how to evaluate the paint surface, whether claying is required. Here we use a piece of cigarette box wrapper to amplify the feeling of the paint surface bumps. Everyone agrees that the paint feels like a sandpaper ...

Just a few rubs with Quick Detailer and this photo shows how contaminated the paintwork is...

Claying removes above surface contaminants including most of the old wax layer. Hence it's crucial to rewax the surface you've clayed. In this case, we applied the NXT Tech Wax.



The grill was polished with the NXT Metal Polysh. Reflection is sharp...

Thanks zey for the write-up on the event. The members enjoyed it thoroughly and went back with some knowledge on car-care. Thanks to Hypercoat (M), Meguiars and Carnauba Autospa for making the session a reality.

For me? I'm over the moon with the 'new' car....
