  • Rotary: what kind of grip do you prefer?

I was curious which grip rotary users like the most.

    Top grip:

    Side grip:

    'All around' grip:

I prefer the side grip, because you can handle the machine better on vertical objects, like doors and side panels

I like the "bail" style handle as you have your choice as to how you hold it.

My Makita came with a bail handle (the all around grip, as you put it) and the side grip. I tried it with both but eventually took them both off and I grip it by the head like a PC. For me, thats the easiest way to control it.

Meguiar's G-500 Adjustable Buffer Handle is (was) really cool.

Unfortunately, Meguiar's doesn't sell them any more. But some dealer may still have a few in stock. The G-500 fits buffers that are made for 1/2"-13NC threaded handles, like the Dewalt and Dynabrade.
