Carpet cleaning

I am very good at cleaning carpets. I find I can get the best results with a terry cloth towel, and a citrus cleaner. The downside is that it takes a very, very long time. I have also used in the past a little green machine, but I found I still had to use a towel and citrus cleaner to get the same results. What do you guys do? What effective time savers do you do? What do you charge to do it? I have used brushes, but I think they are still not as effective.

I've become a fan of APC+. Spray a little on, rub it in on heavy soiled areas with a small brush, let it sit a short time and then extract with a hot water steam vac.
