How many polishers do you own?

Well over the past few weeks it has occurred to me that I should get a second DA so that I can easily remove polishes and waxes using mf bonnets. I thought I was crazy even considering two polishers but Im sure other people here have more than one so lets hear it. How many and what kind?

Speed up the process, no need to wait around and change the pad or anything.

I can't count that high.

I do this for a living so (including buffers and PCs, and a girots garage I machine I havn't returned yet) I have about 24 machines.

Well, if you find it a hassle. Not sure if I head that cleaners/polishes might be easier with a cloth than by bonnet, did you find the bonnet works easier with them as well?

Well thats the thing, Im wondering lol. Right now I just use supreme shine mf towels to remove products. Plus I made this thread because I was just curious if anyone actually owned and used more than one polisher of the same kind. Couldnt find where to make the polls so

C'mon. My time is worth money too, but how long does it take to change a pad???? Certainly less time that it takes waiting for the wax to haze. Seriously - 15 minutes, minimum for the wax to haze; 2 seconds to remove the old pad, 5 seconds to put the new one on, and 20 seconds to put the bonnet over the pad (if you're struggling with it!!). That still leaves me 14 minutes and 33 seconds, minimum, to wipe down the windows, dust off the dash, put on some tire dressing, have a cold beer, play with my dog, or any number of different things. For the cost of a second 7424/G-100 I can buy a lot of beer!!

For the record, I have (1) Porter Cable 7424 Dual Action Polisher and (1) Porter Cable 7428 Rotary, and I maintain (4) vehicles.

Hey, anybody remember the Meguiars foam pads that had the backing plate glued on??? Maybe two or more machines would have be helpful then.

* 4 Cyclos, 2 of which are 100% brand new and will soon be for sale .

* 6 Rotaries. 2 are very old Rockwell's that are no longer made (heavily used & abused). 1 is a no name, but heavily used and no longer working. The other 3 are Hitachi's, 1 of which is about ~2 years old and the other 2 are about ~1.25 years old, all of which get used.

* 8 PC's, a couple of them are used weekely, but several are still 100% brand new in the box and are for sale .

I also have several air powered d/a's for doing auto / body / paint / prep work, but I don't use them too much anymore. However, they will get put back into action in April as I've got a couple more cars to finish & paint for someone .

I do believe Meguiar's has reversed that decision and will still be offering these. Seems to me this was mentioned at a Wednesday night garage session or a recent Saturday clinic.
