  • Used Quik Detailer to remove film..didnt work

    hi...

    today i used quik detailer to remove a light film ..but didnt work..any other sugesstions??? its not tar but would bug/tar remover work??

    Just cant seem to get it off...and what exactly is orange peel???

    Do you have a photo of the film? Do you have any idea what it might be?

    If you look at the surface of an orange there are tiny bumps all over the surface of the orange peel. A vehicle can have similar bumps all over the surface of the the paint and that is called 'Orange Peel'.

      thanks for writing...

      no pics its a very thin film..not dark in color ...that i can smear when applying pressure with finger...it is rough to the touch..not greasy and its dry too...

            If it's on the horizontal surfaces, like hood, roof and trunk, then it is rail dust, tree sap, or industrial fallout. That means it's time to clay! If it's on the sides of the car, it is road sealant. That means it's still time to clay!

            Of course, if you clay, then you will have to clean, polish, and wax too!

              thanks ramair v1....claying is the only thing i didnt do...the film is on the lower fender...ill clay the area next weekend...thanks again...
