Hi, I'm Lake from Singapore. I need a specialist to help me to solve my car cosmetic appearance problem.
My brand new car just less than 3 months had many water spot on car surface. Has had re-spray and re-wax the whole car from service centre but the problem still appeared. My car was parked under the sun for 5 days a week.
Please help me to answer the question below;
1. What caused water spot on car surface?
2. Is it very common on all car and even new car surface?
3. Can Meguiar's Gold Class Liquid Wax help to prevent it?
4. How long can it last of this product being applied?

Water. Probably with some kind of chemical/pollution in it, or there is some kind of build-up of pollution/fallout landing on the car and then mixing with the water.


2. Is it very common on all car and even new car surface?

Yes. It's common anytime a car is exposed to the world, out of an enclosed cover and there's water in the form of rain, sprinklers, dew, or even some type of industrial spew in the air that lands on your car.


3. Can Meguiar's Gold Class Liquid Wax help to prevent it?

A good quality wax can slow down the destructive force of a destructive chemical, but know this, anything strong enough to etch a car's clear coat finish, is more than strong enough to obliterate the micron thin layer or wax you apply. Make sense? The paint stronger, more durable, more resistant to deterioration and attack than a thin layer of a protective wax or paint protectant, so if the substance landing on the paint is strong enough to etch the paint, it's going to eat through the coating of wax you've applied.


4. How long can it last of this product being applied?

How long any coating of wax lasts depends upon how the surface is treated or the conditions it's exposed to. The point is mute however if you're parking your car where there's something landing on it strong enough to etch the paint.

In your situation the solution may be to use a car cover to eliminate the ability for any destructive elements to make physical contact with the paint surface.

1. Are there other cars parked near or around your car?

2. Is this same type of water spotting happening to the cars around where your car is parked?

3. If the answer to question 2 is no, then find out what they have for a paint system, or find out what they're applying to their car that's preventing any water spotting damage.

Probably not the answers you were looking for. Here's a few questions,

1. Are there other cars parked near or around your car?
Yes, but most of the cars are light color.

2. Is this same type of water spotting happening to the cars around where your car is parked?
Do not see any water spot on those dark color cars but a lot of swirl mark on car surface. It seems like had waxed before.

3. If the answer to question 2 is no, then find out what they have for a paint system, or find out what they're applying to their car that's preventing any water spotting damage.
