  • Newbie who has not got a clue....

    Hi Guys,

As the above says i am a total newbie that needs a bit of advice, i have a Ford (Mercury) Cougar in Ebony balck. I want her to look her best, at the moment she has allot of swirl marks and a few deep scratches (down to the primer).
I have been looking at getting a Sonus SFX pc kit, would this be ok for a newbie, what products would you recommend for me to get her looking her best?

    Cheers Guys

If I was starting out and looking to get a PC, I think I would look at autodetailingsolutions web site. They have some great package deals on the PC kits. I think their PC Package #2 would be a great kit to start with as it has everything you would need to get started at a great price.

Package #2 DA Polisher NXT Speed Kit
    1 Meguiar's G100 Polisher (Lifetime Warranty)
    1 Backing Plate.
    2 W8006 Foam Polishing Pad
    1 W9006 Foam Finishing Pad
2 Super Plush Microfiber DA Bonnets
    1 Meguiar's Clay Bar (Small)
    1 M8032 Speed Glaze 32 oz.
1 G12718 NXT Tech Wax 18 oz. (Comes with 1 Applicator Pad)
    1 G13224 NXT Speed Detailer 24 oz.
    3 16 x 16 Microfiber Towels
    1 Duffel Bag

Also here are a few good articles to read regarding removing swirls, whether it be by hand or with the PC.

        Welcome Dan_V6!

Photos would help out if you have an. The scratches down to the primer are not going to come out with any amount of buffing. Otherwise read the posts that Mister B suggested. If you have questions after reading those, just let us know. There are a ton of very helpful people here.

        Good luck with the Cougar!
