  • glass polishing major water stains

The car I am polishing has major water stains all over the glass
I normally use M04 but this wont even budge it
From what I understand it is bore water (nasty water)
is there any other product I can use that wont scratch the glass ??

I've had good success using the following.

    000 Steel Wool
    Foaming Cleanser i.e. "Power Clean"
    Soft towel.

keep the window covered in the foaming cleanser and do not press to hard, but give enough pressure as if your were removing say #83 from paint. Be sure to blow off the wool flakes that may come off. But you should get great results. Especially when you have windshield wiper lines and such.

Personally wouldn't use steel anything to push against glass. Been reading about people doing this for 20 plus years and have owned a lot of old cars that have glass that looks like it was cleaned with steel wool.

How about Comet or Bon Ami?

Triple 0 Steel Wool is not as harsh, and it takes the right touch to make it work right.

Bon Ami is a good product as well, does great work on my pots at home!

How about vinegar on a rag? We use a 1:1 diluted with water solution to clean hard water off the chrome on the boat when we go to the river.

I know its not a Meguiar's product, but I had great success with a Diamondite glass polishing kit. I have more information and pictures in this thread here

Thank you guys for the replies
If the car was my own and not a customer then i might look at the steel wool The thought of putting steel wool on glass dose not do much for me ,but thanks Whelan for the tip
I will give the vinegar tip a shot to see if that will remove it

I highly recommend this for tough water spots on glass. I've used with the PC and the maroon pad. it does wonders! Just make sure to tape the trim that sorrounds the glass to avoid staining!

                Steps:

                1-Clay glasss
                2-M49 w/ the PC
                3-Glass Cleaner
