Thoughts/Suggestions on Business Name?

First i'd like to say hello to everyone, I just joined this forum a few days ago and have read a lot of threads and gained a lot of knowledge already.

I am from Upstate New York and I am about to graduate college in 5 weeks. I have my own shop that is attached to one of my dad's self-serve carwashes. I do detailing and paintless dent repair. I detail for one dealership and the rest is retail. For the past six months I have just been known as 'Autowash' which is the name of my dad's carwash. I was thinking of coming up with a name for my business and had a few ideas but would like some input. Here are two ideas I have thus far:

Honest input and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Between the two that you have I think "Precision Detail" is the better one. Best of luck on your business.

Here's a couple of suggestions...


Your business name should,

• Work well as your website name - example Monter Detail could also be www.MonsterDetail.com
• Tell your customer quickly and plainly... what's in it for me?" (A clean shiny car)
• Be easy to remember and spell so they can type it into a browser or remember it when they try to find you by some other means.

Yea that helps. I think I am leaning towards Precision Detail. I've been thinking about it non-stop for a week now and can't really come up with anything much better.

Unfortunately, for me, precisiondetail.com is taken. Maybe i'd have to resort to another extension such as .biz or something.

So far business has been going decent. There is me and another guy who works for me. I serve one dealership that provides me with 2-3 completes per week plus I have a small customer base that my dad has served for about 15 years. One of his carwash managers has done all the detailing that entire time.

As soon as I am officially done with college in 5 weeks I will be launching the Dent Repair part of my business. I am thinking I might just use whatever name I choose for the detail shop to go with for the dent repair as well, to make things simplified?

A COWORKER OF MINE USED TO CALL ME 'WAXDOCTOR' , THOUGHT IT WAS MEMORABLE & INDURING,FEEL FREE TO USE IT FOR YOUR BUSINESS NAME. LOL

Remember you're going to have a lot of items printed with this name so before you commit to a name do a check at GoDaddy to make sure the name is available and try to stick with a .com extension.

Before you commit to a name for your business, check in at the US Patent and Trademark Office. That is to only legal and sure way to protect your name in the marketplace.

Sorry to state the obvious, but you could always go with Autowash Detailing. It may not be the most inspiring but I think it's unique and I for one kinda like the sound!
