Losing text in your messages - How to prevent it

    Hi everyone,

We're experiencing a problem with our vBulletin software in that sometimes after you click the submit button portions of your text will have been lost. It usually happens after a comma in a sentence but there may be other reasons.

To solve this problem we're in the process of bringing up a brand new forum using different software, until then here's some tips to help you avoid re-thinking your words and then re-typing your words something that is very, very frustrating and time consuming.

First of all, if what your going to post is important to you, you can always type it up in another text editor like Notepad and then copy and paste into your message box on the forum.

Here's another way for those of use who like to type in the message box and take advantage of the built in text formatting tools.

Type your message as normal in the message box window and format the text as you desire.

Next - click on the "Code View" box towards the left hand side of your screen, this is the little box with the two letters "A" in the box, like this

    A/A

Then using your mouse highlight your text code and then right click on top of it and select "Copy"

Next open a simple text editor like Notepad and paste your text/code into this software for safekeeping until you submit your message and check to make sure everything shows up.

If after posting your message you discover some of your text or pictures are missing then you can always go back to where you copied and pasted it into Notepad and retrieve it again.

The thing to do is to look and see where your text got cut off and look for whatever the last character is and delete it. Usually it's a comma like this

    ,

Weird we know but that's what seems to be causing the problem.
