When tax time rolls around it’s time for the San Diego British Car Club Council’s annual Rolling British Car Day.
Normal car shows are great but there’s nothing like getting out on the road and driving ‘em. There are great roads and beautiful countryside around San Diego and the organizers do a wonderful job of planning the course each year.
It starts out in a parking lot somewhere around town where they hand out route instructions then cruises around and ends up someplace else for lunch. For the last couple years lunch has been a picnic in some pretty setting.
This year’s picnic was dampened by a bit of rain (and hail) but our spirits were not!
Breakfast, kicking tires, making up stories…
getting instructions from our fearless leader
This year they had two routes, almost exactly the same but in a few places they split us up so we could double back on each other and see lots of other cars instead of just the ones immediately in front and behind you.
This guy loved watching all the LBCs (Little British Cars) drive by.
No trip to north San Diego county is complete without a stop at Dudley’s Bakery
So what if an Italian car sneaks in here or there, it’s all good.
Your bread is waiting Commander Bond.
This years picnic was at the lovely Menghini Winery in the mountains just outside Julian.
these guys always have fun together
