    Re: NXT Tech Wax 2.0

I just purchased some NXT 2.0 wax a couple days ago. Originally I got the liquid wax but switched it out for the paste. Is that what everyone else prefers?

      Re: NXT Tech Wax 2.0

It all about personal preference and how you are going to apply the wax. By hand, it doesn't really matter as they are applied by hand and getting wax out of the bottle or tin is fairly simple. By machine, putting a paste on a polishing pad is a little impractical and most of us use liquid for that reason. Either way, the basic product is the same, just different ways to apply it.

So I tried NXT! I haven't tried it on my car yet, but I explained the concept of it (synthetic sealant, hydro-phobic) to a customer on wednesday and she seemed really enthusiastic for me to use it. It washed, clayed, spot treated with UC and applied an extremely thin coat of NXT. Even on silver paint it looked phenomenally wet and slick. The paint still had some defects that I felt while hand waxing, but she didn't really care for me to fix them. Now it's time to see how the wax holds up. So far I am thrilled with his product.

Since your last exchanges on this thread back in May of this year we have continued to work towards a course of action that will, at some point in the future, address this issue not only in Italy, but other markets worldwide as well. As you probably know, Meguiar's was acquired by 3M late last year and 3M has many worldwide holdings that will, through time, be able to assist in overcoming some of these challenges. While the global economic downturn has slowed things for virtually all companies, we are certainly aware of these pricing issues and are working on solutions to them.

Keep in mind that in each market around the world we are dealing with a different and unique distributor, different import restrictions, tariffs, etc., all of which adds to the complexity of the situation. Meguiar's products are currently available in over 100 different markets around the world. Obviously we would love to have total control over pricing in Italy and elsewhere as we would be able to sell more product to enthusiasts such as yourself, as well as to the average consumer. Unfortunately these changes don't happen as quickly as any of us might like, so patience on all sides is appreciated.

Man I feel bad for the fellas who has to pay an exuberant premium just to get a hold of some meguiar's products.

I'd probably go insane knowing I couldn't go to my local auto parts store and pick up some NXT 2.0 or other meguiar's stuff.

                Re: NXT Tech Wax 2.0

I'm digging out this toppic because we have the same issue here in France.
Prices are roughly 3 times what they are in the US.
Dont get me wrong, I love Megs products, I just wish to put the record straight a little, concerning the reasons given earlier on this thread on page 7, sorry to say so, that do sound a little phony to me.

Tons of US companies, and not allways big ones, have their products available in France or elesewhere in europe and prices do not difere that much.

Maketing costs? I work in marketing so I know it's not such a big deal, especially for a company like Meguiar's. It doesn't cost more for Meg as it does for any other company. Advertising is not to be seen here. The only piece of add I saw from megs, was the catalogue, in french, that was added to my online order.

Packaging adaptation? When I ordered from Meg France, all labels were in english.

If you look at other company's products, there's no way price tags are that different. Even Apple computers are basically the same prices here and in the states i.e. and they LOWERED the prices a while back here, cause people were complaining that Apple sold their stuff with the same tag in € and $ (something costing 100$ would be sold 100€ here. Given the exchange rate droping in the last years so much, such a policy wasn't accepted by customers here anymore)

I give Apple as an example, but the same goes for most products here.

So what about being able to order products directly from megs US? I've ordered countless things directly from the US, everything's allways been shipped at a moderate price using UPS, and I never ever had the slightest problem...

Hi all, I just bought nxt 2.0 and planning to apply to my car this week but i am confused about applying it by hand or with machine. Can anyone guarantee me that if I apply with machine there will be a considerable difference ? If yes, I need some hints...

                    Re: NXT Tech Wax 2.0

Machine will certainly allow having a more uniform layer of wax all over your car. It'll do the job right if you have the skills to do so. But wax is one of those products you can really apply by hand rather quickly. I guess if you do it well, you can get to the same result as by machine.

Philming, we certainly understand your frustration, but there was nothing at all "phony" about the previous response.

Meguiar's contracts with various distributors all over the world, and each distributor manages the territory they have. They are not necessarily direct Meguiar's employees, or even an "overseas Meguiar's branch", so to speak.

Everything we manufacture, regardless where in the world it is sold, is manufactured in the same facility in the United States. This explains the packaging being uniform throughout the world. Some of our competitors actually license their name, and name ONLY, to distributors around the world. Not does their packaging vary from location to location, but so do their formulations. Meguiar's staunchly refuses to do this - the NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0 purchased in Rome, Paris, London, Kuala Lumpur or Adelaide is the exact same product purchased in Los Angeles.

We also have an extremely generous return/refund policy, but that becomes extremely difficult to administer when dealing with customers outside the US. Even shipping to Canada poses problems because shippers there are required by law to collect certain import fees directly from the recipient. So a customer buys a product from us, pays for it with a credit card - including shipping costs - and yet is forced to pay additional fees when taking delivery of the product. If that customer ends up not being satisfied with the product, is he to be expected to ship the product back to the US (incurring the associated fees) or do we? And at what exchange rate? And what about those import fees he paid upon receipt of product? Certainly he's going to want that refunded, but we didn't collect it. This only becomes compounded when shipping individual orders worldwide.

Thanx for your response. (I have questions on the french forum that have been sitting there for weeks without an answer).
I understand things aren't always as simple as one should expect them to be. But that's the catch. You guys have the best possible products available out there. I spent over 400€ (french prices, so that would be around 150$ if bought in the US I guess) these past couple weeks for them, so there might be a reason for this.
It's just comparing the prices here and in the US that's frustrating as you put it. Are we taken for milk cows by Meg? By the retailer? Do they still hate us for not supporting the war in Irak? ;-) These are the kind of questions that come to mind when going for those products. It's great if things evolve in the right direction in any case. Thanx for your input and congratulation to you and the team around you for doing such a great job.

I am picking up a brand new car tomorrow.

Should I firstly polish it with Deep Crystal, or just put a few coats of NXT on it.

I was thinking about a coat of Deep Crystal and then a couple of coats of NXT?

Probably best to start a new thread for new car questions, but in general, a good plan would be:

                              1. Wash
                              2. Clay if needed
                              3. Cleaner/Wax or ColorX (Colour Boost)
                              4. Wax - Nxt 2.0

Thanks for that, I am very surprised that polishing isn't suggested.

I don't think we can get ColorX in Australia, at least I have never seen it in our local shops.

I expect using Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner would be OK? and then the NXT?
