Ooh that's hot! Sadly my caprice is not so pretty (currently, anyway.) about a year from now it should be at least all straight. I've gotten better at straighening, and somewhat faster.

Hopefully it will look as hot as your impala.

I thought the rule was wax over sealant.
I thought since gold class would not last as long a M21, GCW would take M21 with it.
so would M21 really last as long as usual layered over a not-so-lasting wax?

One of the more 'accepted' methods of applying LSP's is to apply the sealant first followed by the carnauba wax. There are several rationale for doing this including the way the sealant will bond/cross-link to the paint. If a carnauba is applied first, many believe the sealant will not bond properly and therefore will not last.

Now with the above said, Meguiar's products are designed to work together as a whole, a synergy. Hence why you can top M07 Show Car Glaze, a pure polish, with M20, a sealant. I have done that for years without any issues at all... . I for one have always layered products. While some may say that is silly, I always used M20 topped with M26. I wanted the durability and extreme gloss of the sealant combined with the deep dark and rich look created by the carnauba blend which leads to my next comment.

Meguiar's Gold Class is a polish/wax and therefore is not a pure carnauba. And since Meguiar's products are compatible with each other, I do not see a problem in using it in the way Andy suggested even though I personally have not used it that way.

I think it would be a great experiment to do one side of the hood with the GC topped with M21 and the other with M21 topped with GC to see which one lasts longer under the same conditions.

Finally, M21 is a unique product. While I still layer M20 with M26 (on dark colors) or M16 (on light colors) I do not layer M21 with another product as I do not see the need. Meguiar's M21 is the best of both worlds: extreme gloss with a deep rich wet look to the paint. Therefore, I find that 2 coats of M21 is all that one needs...IMHO.

Yes, you can apply any Meguiar's pure polish prior to M21, and most likely any other glaze you may like as well.

Where would this fit into a waxing regime? Does it go on first? where in relation to something like Ultimate Glaze?

The curing process doesn't really begin until the haze is removed. Hazing is not the same as curing.

I tried Polycharger with a competitor's product and quite frankly I did not see all that much difference, in looks, durability, or haze time. Just my observation.

NXT is NOT the same product as #21. I think most detailers who have used both LSPs would agree with that statement. For one thing #21 lasts much longer than NXT does.

I used to use NXT and agree since using M21 it lasts much longer than NXT I can get easy 3-4 months out of a single application of M21 and NXT would start loosing its beading effect in say 2-3 months. And I find M21 easier to go on and take off.
