So we moved on to some clay bar instruction and Rick & Erica attacked the roof of the MINI. Can you believe this junk came off that white paint??

How often can one use a clay bar? Is there a limit or any cons to using it to much?

There are two ways to look at that question:

      Q. How often can a clay bar be used before it's no longer useable.
      A. Depends on how often the vehicle's surface needs to be clayed and the amount of bonded contaminants being removed. The clay being used in the images in this thread isn't going to last very long if that Mini continues to be neglected (although we highly doubt Erica & Rick will allow that to happen)

      or

      Q. How many times can you use clay on a given vehicle, and is there a downside to using it too often.
      A. Clay the vehicle as often as needed, as determined by the level of bonded contaminants present. Since the clay doesn't work on below surface defects it doesn't remove any paint so you can use it every week if you have to. (but if you have to use it every week, find a different place to park your car)

Great thank you, I like the last part "(but if you have to use it every week, find a different place to park your car)" What I should do is cut down that tree that keeps dropping dust and other particles onto my car,but since the city won't allow it i guess all i can do is try and take care of the paint by putting a cover and waxing it(having a black car sometimes *****).
