S2000 Club - Pictures & Comments from Satuday's Class!
Re: S2000 Club - Pictures & Comments from Satuday's Class!
Mike,
Thank you and the Meguiar Team for putting together a wonderful program to help people who are just clueless about washing, polishing, waxing, etc.... (me in particular)
No matter how many times I read about how to do this stuff, I always get confused.
The demonstrations that were put on today were very easy to do and I cant wait to do it on my own car.
The one thing I did desire was that I wish I was able to purchase a lot of the products in the class today, especially the Meguiar's Dual Action Polisher. I will try to call on Monday if I dont forget.
The food was great and the giveaway bag was just icing on the cake.
Thank you Meguiar's, you have a customer for life!
Re: S2000 Club - Pictures & Comments from Satuday's Class!
I too would like to express my thanks to Meguiars for the opportunity to learn how to use the quality products that only a "CAR CRAZY" person like myself could use. The instructor Mike Phillips was very knowledgeable, courteous, and a great person to learn the fine "ART" of car care. Barry Meguiar, if you read these forums, a big THANK YOU, for allowing our S2000 club the opportunity to learn from a true professional.
The only thing that I wish was the availability to purchase your fine products before leaving our class today.
Re: S2000 Club - Pictures & Comments from Satuday's Class!
Thank you so much for putting these classes together! I am familiar with the consumer line of meguiars products and have been a long time user. i was amazed at how it restored an old 84 volvo and have been hooked ever since.
thank you for educating us and showing even some of us seasoned users alot of GREAT new stuff!
After we wiped the dust off, we used Clay Bar first:
Our product lineup for hand detail first...
Step 1: scratch-x
Step 2: polish
Step 3: wax
Our machine products:
We got to take turns trying it by machine. Vinny, the owner of the car, was first...
Then me...
Then Deborah...
Then Vincent...
Before and after on the headlight using Plast-X. (left=after, right=before)
Look at how much fun we are having!
Thank you Meguiars!
S2KCA and S2KI clubs
Crossfire Club
All of us!
We did it!
Thank you again to Meguiars and everyone who helped run the show. We really had a great time and look forward to intelligently caring for our cars now! I think after this class its safe to say we are a bit less "bubba".
Re: S2000 Club - Pictures & Comments from Satuday's Class!
While this certainly was not my first time at one of these sessions I must say it was definitely the best! On behalf of the entire Crossfire group I want to thank not only Meguiar's and Mike Phillips, but also Michelle and the whole S2000 group for so graciously letting us dovetail into their session. Great pictures Michelle!
One last shot I want to add is the work Michelle and I did on one of the tailpipes of our "test" car for the day. These were a mess and since Vinny drove off with one clean and one dirty I wonder what people on the road think when they see his car now! Oh, and this is maybe 5 minutes work, by hand, using Meguiar's Hot Rims Mag & Aluminum Polish.

Re: S2000 Club - Pictures & Comments from Satuday's Class!
Thank you, Barry Meguiar, for having Mike host these classes. I've been a Meguiar's user for years, but never with the results until I learned the correct way this past Saturday!
Being the owner of the test car, the first thing I did last night when I got home was clean the other exhaust tip. Over time, I had been so discouraged about their condition that I just NEVER TRIED to clean them, thinking it would be too much work.
Today, I was motivated to do the rest of the car with #7, #26, and #34. It only took a few hours since the car was already clayed and clean. I didn't get quite the results as the machine did yesterday, but it looks better today than it did before. I also did a second application on both of the exhaust tips with even better results!
First thing Monday morning, I am ordering the Dual Action Polisher, the M80, and the Plast X to finish the headlights. Never again will I have to pay $250 or more to achieve the "showroom finish".
Thanks to Meguiar's, I feel like I have a "renewed relationship" with my car after 110k miles.
Re: S2000 Club - Pictures & Comments from Satuday's Class!
yay that is soo kool vin! i would have been out detailing my baby too if it wasnt so darn windy oh well, the knowledge is with me forever now, so i can go do it whenever i want!
Re: S2000 Club - Pictures & Comments from Satuday's Class!
Thanks Meguiar's for having Mike put on the truly excellent class on Saturday! He's a very good teacher..... keeps it light and fun, and yet still manages to pass a lot of great information. I spend a lot of time reading detailing forums. I think I've been duped into believing that best results are got from esoteric, hard to find car care products. Mike gave us a great overview of what goes into your products. I must say, I'm impressed! Couple that with the support provided by the forums, and it leaves me wondering why I've been using anything else. Getting my order together now. THANKS!
BTW, made it back to Northern California safe and sound
