Backing plate & Velcro separating

I changed pads the first time I used my PC and when I went to take the pad off, the velcro came right with it.

Is this common? I tried superglue, but that didn't really cut it. This was literally the first night I used the thing.

Material defects or you are taking out the pad from the backing plate too fast.

I peel out the pad very slowly each time after use.

Also, if you know the right ear to bend, could you suggest that the sales reps on the phone forwarn customers when products are on back order? I've ordered twice over the phone, and each time I didn't find out a product was backordered until after everything else showed up. At least I might be able to find it locally if I know I can't get it when I need it through a phone order. Thanks!
