  • APC Vs. Super Degreaser

Hello eveyone! I have browsed the site a lot and love it so I made and account and here I'am.

I have a question about what to buy, APC or Super degreaser. I have a 1998 z71 pickup that I have had for a long time and baby it. It has 80,000 miles on it. But I what to detail the engine bay but I dont know what to buy APC or Super degreaser. It dose not have a lot of build up on it. Very minamal. I want to use this product in the engine bay and wheel wells and tires and rims. Will the APC be enough to cut through minor grease, brake dust ect.? Is the APC ok for rubber, Alummium and pastic?

Thanks in advance for the reply!!

If youre going to be using it on things other than the engine then I would go with the APC. It will do just fine with mild grease and brake dust.

I only use Super D on my under body and engine. Also used it to clean the Gas Grill on the porch.

Do you ever have a problem with the Super D hurting the plastic, rubber and Alumimum?

You may try APC+. It is more of a degreaser than the regular APC, but works just as well. I have both, along with Super Degreaser, so it is easy pickings for me.

I cannot find the APC+ on the website to buy and read about. Is it going to be ok for alummium, rubber and plastic?

I think APC+ is a discontinued item, but ADS has it.

It was at one point in time, but not anymore. It is actually the replacement for Safe D-Greaser.

Speedway- I use it in my engine all the time which has aluminum, rubber, and plastic and have had no ill effects.

No it's not, but that doesn't mean it's discontinued. There are a few products not in the catalog.

Why have a catalog of products if they aren't all in there?

                      Hey,

Apc+ is in a group of products that were for commercial use only and were to be sold in large quantities only through certain distribution centres. ADS carries the products and sells the products in individual gallons: APC+, Super Soap, Water Based Dressing and Solvent Based Dressing which are not in the Pro catalog for the reasons mentioned above.

                      I hope this helps!

So how is one supposed to find out about these products then, other than on here? Some of us may need large quantities of products like those for our businesses.

I would assume from a business standpoint, your Meguiar's Rep would have that info for you. I believe these are available in 55 gallon drums which would be the most economical for businesses.

But other than that, I do not know how Meguiar's has their distribution set up for these products. I would suggest contacting Meguiar's Customer Service who could direct the correct information to you.

Here is a little more information for you:

Thanks alot guys for helping me get started. I just ordered the following:

PlastX™ Clear Plastic Cleaner & Polish
Meguiar's All Purpose Cleaner Plus 1 Gallon
                              Meguiar's Hyper Dressing 1 Gallon
                              Meguiar's Hyper-Wash 1 Gallon
Meguiar's Last Touch Spray Detailer 1 Gallon
                              Lexol Quick-Wipes Cleaner and Condition
                              16.9 oz. Lexol Spray Vinylex
16.9 oz. Lexol Spray Leather Condition
16.9 oz. Lexol Spray Leather Cleaner

I went with the APC+ because I wanted a product that was stronger but not to harsh. I'm excited about the hyper dressing! And of course as I type this it is starting to rain.
