Brand new to all of this. Redoing the very hulls on a very oxidized Hobie 16. I am going to get a buffer/polisher this evening. I am going to start with #49, follow with #45 and then #56. (Using the kit) My biggest question is what type of pads should I use at each stage? Not necessarily looking for a specific pad # but pad type. Thanks.

Re: Let me make sure I have this right
Wool cutting pad for the M49
Foam Polishing pad like our W-8000 or W-8006
The wax is usually applied by hand or with a dual action polisher with cars but with a boat you could apply using a dedicated foam pad like the above polishing pad on a rotary buffer, probably the smaller size. You don't want to mix chemicals across pads so have a pad for polishing and one for waxing.
