  • Buying a DA

I am thinking about buying a DA and was wondering if I should get the G100 or the G110. I have read all of the reviews & the G110 seems like an excellent machine except for one thing. I have seen several threads posted about them quitting. I will only be using it as a weekend warrior, so I am not sure if the extra power is worth the trade off of having to send it back to get it repaired. Also the lifetime warranty on the G100 is enticing also. By only using it on weekends and not every weekend at that, the G110 could develop problems after the 1 year warranty is up. Are these valid concerns? Please advise, as I value the opinion of the people on this forum.

    Re: Buying a DA

The unfortunate of reading threads regarding products malfunctioning is that you don't see the threads of persons having great results using a new product. I believe that the Open Garages and Saturday classes and the tinkering with them during the week when we aren't there shows that they are a good machine. It appears they use them a lot and by people who may or may not know how to use them.

I have done research on what type of video game console I would like to get and did research on the XBox 360 which had failures but of all the threads of game failures, there were a lot of machines that did not fail, I'm sure.....I am going to buy one....Call Of Duty 4 baby! We play it at work when we are on nights and bored on weekends

Although it is an inconvenience to have a product fail, Meguiars represents and will take care of their customers. I left feedback on UQD regarding a bottle that failed and lo and behold I got a new bottle in the mail and I did not give my address.....

I own (won ) G100 and it works marvelous and I'm sure the G110 with all the testing of products by current customers and at their Open Garages means it's a good machine.

Failures happen, look at the auto industry, scares me to buy a new car with the recalls and bugs in them. Which reminds me to fix my '64 C-10, ran like a champ until I burned a valve. After a rebuild, I trust it and the granny low four speed than my '00 Yukon. Got Transmission problems? 125,000 miles plus on the clock, getting nervous.......

    Hope that helps...

      Re: Buying a DA

Take the plunge and get the G110. I did and mine was one that did happen to fail. Nappers is correct in that everyone else's G110 that did NOT fail, you won't typically hear about it. I had a brand new replacement in my hands within 10 days along with a few extra pads I did own a prior version DA and I like the extra power of the G110 as well as less vibrations. I am not in a business and, like yourself, am a weekend detailer.

The G100/PC7424 is a great machine. The G110 is better. Yes, the extra power is nice but the darn thing is just soooo smoooth in comparison.
