I got this tip from a gentleman at my favorite car parts store.
The pads that I used are a foam circle that is wrapped in microfiber (not made by meguiars).

-Cut the pad in half, and sew the cut area shut. you'll end up with 2 moon shaped pads.
-That moon shape is handy for applying interior dressings/trim dressings.
-It has a point that can reach hard areas.

(Now go and cannibalize some cheap pads
)
