This compared to M66? Sounds like it will be a bit more aggressive, almost like M105 for the PC?

Reminds me of the So1o system that Meg's has already...

Hmmm...I think I'm going to have to start investing in more tools more seriously in the near future to take advantage of this stuff! Curse you, Meguiar's, for lightening my wallet!

Maybe a makeover on the focus is in order.
You left out licking the water off. Oh, wait a minute, that's my cat, not my car. Uh, I mean my cat licks himself dry. I don't lick my cat dry. Or my car. -PC.

                  O.K., so it's "oilier" than M66 . . . what about it's cut? Does it abrade more than M66, more than M105? . . less?

Is this answer what we are waiting for from Mike?

But here's the important question . . . what does it smell like?
Have you diminished your abrasives today?

You can never beat the smell of Meguiar's. I'm sure it will smell great! I too would like to know if this is like an M105 for the DA. It would be a lot more convenient for people who only have a DA.

Meguiar's So1o is similar to System One in that the cut varies based on the pad used and both are really intended for use on fresh paint (although both can and do work well on a lot of cured paint systems as well). It seems the real kicker to this new D151 is that it also has the wax protection in it, making it a true variable all in one product.

I can see where that variable nature would be a huge benefit in a production environment, which is the target audience of the product. Just think: if car "A" has minor swirls, car "B" has moderate swirls and holograms and car "C" is pretty messed up, the shop can get by with a single chemical to tackle all three. Just grab a more powerful machine and/or pad and get the job done, including waxing, all in one process regardless of how bad the finish is (within reason, of course).

                        Wow this is excellent news!!

Im a big fan of meguiars #66, its my favourite product as i do lots of cheap/quick/mini details.

                        This sounds great.

Also changing the pads to change the cut is nothing new. I've been doing that with all my products including #66 for years.

I cant wait to see how much extra cut this product has and how much longer the protection lasts.

It looks promising as the current abrasives seem to cut stronger while leaving less marring so this product may follow that path and provide more cut with no reduction in gloss.

D151 doesn't have anywhere near the cutting ability of solo or 105.

I would use it on a vehicle with light paint defects.

On a lightly swirled vehicle I polished it with rotary/wool and got light hologram buffer trails in the finish. I chased it with a G100 /8006 and it was swirl free and protected.

                          Yes it smells nice to!

                            Joe,

Do you have any pics of any of the cars you have used the D151 on? How easy is product removal? How long do you need to wait before product removal? How long does it take to swipe clean?

Here is what we started with.

I don't think I would have went straight to a wool pad but we were testing it so ............

Here is how the yellow wool pad in the SOLO kit left the finish. See the light holograms?

Here is the same hood after using D151 with a G100 and 8006 pad.
