  • Rainstorm- Customer Soaked Seats

I have a customer that left his windows open during a rain storm and completely soaked his cloth seats, and apparently the smell is pretty bad. I have a bissel carpet cleaner, I forget the exact name of it, most of you have it, will that do the job in removing some of that staillness and smell out of the seats? or is there something better I can use that has worked for you guys?

    Thanks,
    Chas

If it's starting to smell bad it may have mold to some degree. If you've got the little green machine thing, I think I'd try it to first extract any leftover moisture that you can **** out and then use it's cleaning solution and add a little bit of oxyclean (or something similar) to the mixture. If that doesn't do it, and it still stinks, then more drastic remedies will be in order.

Is it still wet, like soaked yesterday, or has it dried out and now is smelling?

I did that once, and I just opened the windows in the garage, let it dry out, and sprayed in some Odor Eliminator.

But if it has been a while, and the customer never really dried the car out, and now it is moldy, you could be looking at just having to replace cloth/foam stuff if it is too far gone.
