Wet-sanding is the same as color sanding. Color sanding is what it was commonly called back when the industry was spraying single stage paints because as you sanded you would see the color of the paint coming off the car and into your sanding water run-off and eventually on the ground.
Now that most shops are shooting clear coat paints, the paint is still coming off but you can't really see it as it's clear, so we call it wet-sanding.
