  • You make the call..

You make the call, am I getting to be a better photographer or am I improving the paint??

Here she is brand new from the dealer:

After five months of reading this forum and trying many Meguiars products (I started with DC#1, DC#2, DC#3, then tried #7 with NXT, then #9 with a new PC before #7 with NXT, and numerous other combos I settled on a system.

My last detail was: clay, #83, #82, #81, NXT X 2 (all by PC except the clay), NXT booster by hand and quick detailer. Here she is all detailed:

Who should my mentor be? Ansel Adams or Mike Phillips?

                  Probably more like this:

Better juxtaposition of light and shadow. Also better composition. LOL

The real question is could Ansel Adams do magic on cars? That said can Mike photograph anything other than cars? So I guess the real challange is who can photograph while working on cars. That sounded like the line out of Gone In 60 Seconds.

Ansel would have taken the car out to the mountains with his large format camera. He was the founder of the zone system. A perfect representation of white to black and all the shades of gray that are between.

That is good to know. Now after a year of learning about zone system I have someone to blame. I always got grief from my photo teacher because I could never equal the photograph out. Ansel Adams will be a derogitory term by the time I have finished with it. Just kidding.

                          Lt1Corvette,

I had a zone system photo class too. I found the class easy, but I had a spot meter and my own 4x5 camera. I think the spot meter is a must for the zone system. What year is your vette? Mine is a 1996.

What is juxtaposition and the zone system?

Cool B&W pics of the T-Bird.
