First a big thank you to everyone that came to our Thursday night "Open Garage" last night, we had a super turn-out and a ton of fun!

Second, our gallery is temporarily down and our Webmaster is on sick leave so we can't post a lot of pictures till he's recovered and back to work.

We'll get a few up however...

I left just as the yellow Mustang was being pulled in so I saw the "before" shot. What did you end up using on it?

Also it was great to see some familiar faces and I had a ton of fun! Hopefully it won't be another two years before I can come again. You learn something new everytime. For example I saw Mike follow #82 with ColorX to further polish the surface. That's a combo I never would have thought of if I hadn't seen him do it. Thanks again Meguiar's for having such an awesome event.

please tell about the painters tape on the yellow mustang.
the window trim is something i have read about on here.
but on the edge of the hood is not something i have read about yet.
please explain why this was done.

I cant stop looking at my hood. Evenwith dust and a dark garage, it has never looked better. Mike, you are amazing at what you do.

Actually... Meguiar's is amazing at what they do, our chemist create awesome products that enable anyone that chooses the right product and uses good technique to get professional results every time.

Hopefully we can get our gallery back into operating mode and we'll get some pictures from last Thursday night into this thread...

For now we're in a holding pattern....

Since Mike was wetsanding and then pulling the sanding marks with a rotary buffer the tape was applied to things like the hood pins, vents, hood edge, etc so as to avoid damaging those with either tool and to avoid getting any polish splatter into the vents/scoops. It's always faster and easier to mask these items off beforehand than to go back and clean 'em up later (or replace them if you really mess up!!).

It was also applied to the edges of the hood to prevent sanding and buffing directly on top of the edges.
