  • Gunk engine degreasing review...!

After trying just about everything available Commercial/Industrial/Consumer products nothing compares for price and results.....

(Pros) doesn't hurt Chrome, plastic etc....

(Cons) smells bad, don't get on paint or filmy residue will remain and most important it (WILL) strip wax..

    Joe's tips to engine de-greasing

Spray on cool engine, let sit for few minutes, start engine than pressure wash ....

    {{{{{{{{{{{{{{Caution }}}}}}}}}}}}

It's HIGHLY flammable make sure you rinse it well.......Joe

I used that stuff on my truck engine this last time around. Worked really well!

Try their citrus type. It actually works very well.
If its fast, loud, and runs on a flammable liquid...count me in.

Still amazes me you start the engine before rinsing it.

Ive used Gunk before and I agree, its good stuff.

          1. Is the odor less with the citrus version?
          2. Do you feel it works as good as the regular formula?

Are you serious? I would be too afraid to put anything that ends with that on my engine. Now as far as in the engine , that's a different story.

this stuff rocks! i used it to clean off grease that flew under my swingarm on my motorcycle, tough greasy areas on my old land cruiser. it helps when you need something strong! other than that i always just use soap and water and some good ol elbow grease

I've used that stuff before. Works great, but it does stink.

                      Re: Gunk engine degreasing review...!

I note that Gunk puts out several engine degreasers: EB1 Engine Brite (original formula), EBZ14 Zero VOC Engine Brite, EBGEL Engine Brite Gel, and FEB1 Foamy Engine Brite.

Has anyone tried all of these? I wonder how they compare.

Gunk has has a two-in-one degreaser and detailer: CEB1 Engine Shine. I confess that I am skeptical of products that claim they can both clean my engine and put a shine on it.

I have used the EB Gel. Worked pretty much the same as the regular stuff, just didn't run as much, which I think was the point, lol.

It's sold at many/most auto supply stores in the U.S.A., but it may be hard to find outside of the states.
