is it any indication that your wax layer may be getting low when you feel the paint and it is no longer super soft and smooth. because sometimes this may happen with just one or 2 washings and wont return with QD needing a full on reapp.

There are some ways to tell if your wax layer is getting low:
• If QD is stubborn to come off.
• If there isn't alot of water beading.
There are probably more ways, but here's something to consider:
Depending on what kind of wax you're using, and its environmental conditions the car is kept in can say alot about how long your wax will last on your finish.
What kind of wax did you use?
How long ago did you apply it before you started losing the slick feel?
Where is the car kept?
