  • 2003 Charcoal Silverado work truck

Well, a few weeks ago I went out to wash my truck and noticed I had a fair amount of fresh tar on it. So I decided I should probably get that off.....next thing you know I spent all day on it! Guess that's how it goes sometimes. Anyway, here was my process and some after pics. No befores....like I said, I just went out to wash it!

Wash with GC and microfiber mitt
    Dryed with The Absorber
Bad tar areas with Meguiar's Body Solvent
Clay with blue mild and last touch for lube
    #83 via rotary @ 1200 with cutting pad 7006
#80 via DA @ speed 5 with polishing pad 8006
#7 via DA @ speed 3 with finishing pad 9006
#21 via DA @ speed 3 with finishing pad 9006
    Wheels with Wheel Brightner
    Chrome got Cleaner Wax
Exhaust with Mag and Aluminum Polish..mmmm cinnamon
    Glass was NXT
    Tires with #40
    All lights got ScratchX

    Working shots:
This was right after I finished this side with #7. No LSP yet.

This is the closest I could get to a direct sun shot. Don't mind the drip running right through the middle of it This truck holds water in every little crevice just waiting to run out when I fire up the polisher!

And a shot with the Halogen checking my results:

And finally some finished shots right after the sun went down. Not the best for detailing forums but I like "golden hour" car shots anyway!

      Great Job!

It gives me inspiration to tackle our Black Silverado this summer....maybe the end of July or August.

Your truck looks great. Like the reflection shots. It looks as good as new. Way to go.

Jason. 5th picture sealed the deal. Nothing but clear metallic flakes .

Nice job! That truck looks great.
If its fast, loud, and runs on a flammable liquid...count me in.

Thanks guys! I'm trying to sell it now so I figured I would get it all cleaned up for the next owner...not the best truck market right now as you might imagine. So maybe I'm just cleaning it up for myself. Which is OK too
