New addition to the family.......Nyla!

Full bred German Sheppard, 8 months old.

She belonged to a client of mine that was/is way too busy to give her any attention. I service this clients vehicles weekly and hated to see the dog penned up with no toys and nobody ever playing/walking her.

I asked if I could have her and I got her for free!

Congrats! Shepherds are smart dogs, I bet you could teach her to help detailing. Fetching products maybe. lol

I just put up a fence last week so I could get a dog. I'm borrowing my parents in a few weeks for a 'test run'.

Having raised two generations of Boxer's I'm speaking from first hand experience when I say that having a dog is like having a child. It's a lot of work but also very rewarding.

You need to find a mobil Dog Groomer and set up a trade where they come by and bathe your dog on a regular basis and you wash and wax their Van.

Washing long haired dogs and all the clean-up and work involved... ugh...

(We'll stick to Boxers... short hair)

Thanks all. We had a border collie pass away on us about three months ago. We had "petey" for 15 years. I have always wanted a German Sheppard. My mother has three currently.

I grew up with a black lab. My wife and I have a pure bread beagle and an australian cattle dog mixed with spitz from the shelter. Dogs are great, they're like a child or a sibling depending on your age.

The most important tool in a long haired dog owner's life is a Metro Vac N Blow (4hp) to blow out the dead hair and dry the coat. It works wonders, but beware there will be dog hair everywhere

My favorite breed and that is a beaut. I have had several since I was a kid. Good luck and I think it is great you rescued it!
