    Re: Claybar or Liquid Claybar?

I have three bottles of this TW Liquid ClayBar, and it stinks! Your arms will start to fall-off when you start using this. It's a great idea, but the result and ease of use, are just downright awful.

The liquid clay bar with a buffer will result in a wet sanding effect, albeit a very slow going one. It takes it a little while, but if you have bad water spots, it works AMAZING. I would FIRST USE A STANDARD CLAY BAR, then follow up with the liquid clay. Don't expect to get the liquid to do the same thing as the actual clay bar, they're NOT substitutes.

These statements come from actually using the products and witnessing firsthand how they perform. The liquid clay and a buffer will make bad water spots a thing of the past!

Also, after you use the liquid clay bar, wash the vehicle like you normally would. It is kind of soapy, but use your favorite car soap when you wash it and rinse thoroughly!

        EDIT...

Also, after you use the liquid clay bar, wash the vehicle like you normally would. It is kind of soapy, but use your favorite car soap when you wash it and rinse thoroughly! It might not be a bad idea to dish soap at that point so you have a very clean / degreased surface to work with.

I don't know if this has already been mentioned before, I'm too lazy to read through all the posts.
I was at Canadian Tire looking at the turtle wax clay kit, It comes with Liquid Clay, Spray Detailer, and a clay bar. I think the liquid clay bar is supposed to be used as a pre -cleaner to remove above surface contaminants. Then your supposed to used the traditional clay bar.

Heres a link to Canadian tire product description of it

If memory serves, when first introduced the Liquid Clay bar was indeed marketed as a direct substitute for a traditional clay bar. No traditional clay bar was packaged with it.

Again, if memory serves, it was Richard Lin, AKA OctaneGuy, who did an outstanding review of this product and basically likened it to a mild liquid paint cleaner. This idea seems to be supported by P90wn3r's experiences and perhaps the fine folks at TW eventually saw it as such, too, and have since repackaged the product as Ravi_1992 describes.

Those TW guys are certainly not dumb, that's for darn sure!

              Re: Claybar or Liquid Claybar?

Just to clarify, after using the liquid clay, it leaves a soapy residue on the vehicle. It says to use a wet cloth to get it off, but I find a normal wash to be the best route. Again, leave the residue on, and wash it off w/ dish soap, and you'll be ready for some NXT 2.0.

I tried many different products to get the spots off and failed. I only used the Liq Clay that one time, and haven't needed it since. Not sure what was in that wash concentrate that orignally left my paint and windows spotted to hell, but damn if my windows still are not stained. Does anyone know a good buffing compound for windows? I think I tried the LC on them and it didn't work (I was desperate...still am!). I want to get the stains off of the windows / mirrors. Any suggestions???????????????????????????

Ultimate Compound usually works quite well on glass. M04 Heavy Cut Cleaner is excellent as well.

Can you use UC with G110v2 to remove water spots on the windshield? Or should I start with SwirlX first?

                    Yes, you can.

Although I would prefer to do it by hand.
