so I went out and tried the GC Trim detailer on the valve covers and to say it has much more deeper and richer look to them along with other black plastic in the engine bay. I have used mothers back to black with good results but this GC trim detailer had a greater out come. It was less messy than the other products I have used. It is more like a gel istead of a watery base. Also I did one application of this product with these great results. It may not be as clean overall, as washing the motor because I can not get into the deep hard to reach places. I have taken before and after pics. Next after this will be is how long that deep black look will last to the heat and dirt/grease.
Before
For this photo below- The black plastic is what I am working on, where the hole is cut for the shaker. The insulation looks to far gone to fix. I will end up replacing it when it starts to tear.
Afters- I can see that it has a much deeper richer shine.
In this photo below- The stains in the plastic are gone in one application
For pic below- The air intake was the hardest spot. Whent the intake is bent it is hard to reach in the tight places but I got them as good as I can do. I would need to wash the engine to get in the hard to reach places. but anyways the GC detailer gave it a richer deeper black look.
