protecting granite tile

Maybe this is a little off topic , but are any of the meg's products good for protecting ganite tile, for protection and removing minor surface blemishes. Thought I'd ask before trying any.

I have granite slab for kitchen counter tops. I have used NXT on them with no issues. They come out nice and shiny!

yes it's a 12 inch by 12 inch tile on the counter top and it is high gloss. with a couple of rub spots in it. and some marks where a glass of "SOMETHING" sat. Oh! it is absolute black very dense material.,. I do have pieces left over that I can experiment on. Thanks for the reply. My camera is in the shop, 'the guy says I may have it on Monday - maybe..

Well, you cant just take scratches/blemishes out of granite like you can paint, but you can certainly use some of the same products to protect it.

If you want to go nuts, you can certainly clay it, and a cleaner/wax might help with the glass marks. Or just wax it as mentioned above.

Might give a simple cleaner/wax a try, like our A12 Meguiar's Cleaner/Wax which is available at just about any auto parts store.

If it's a wet mark like the bottom of a glass. Then, the granite tile was never sealed and needs to be re-sealed.

You might try looking up a stone repair specialist with the tools and experience to repair the water ring or replace the tile and then seal everything with an appropriate sealant.

One thing most folks don't realize is these natural materials (granite, marble) if unsealed by the fabricator/installer come with annual maintenance. Which means using an appropriate stone sealant.

Don't even get me started on folks that have polished marble installed as a bathroom floor... talk about a slip hazard!

I had a granite fountain put in this year. It sits in front of my entrance and runs 12 hours a day. Before it was installed I hit it with #83, #80, NXT2.0 (x2) and UQD. After 4 months it still seems to be shedding water well and has not developed any mineral deposits. I'll likely redo this procedure every spring since it worked so well.
