  • "New Posts" Glitch?

So there I was looking at the "New Posts" list, then suddenly two "new" posts caught my attention. These posts were in the following threads:

    Liquid or Paste
    Do you use Instant Messaging

According to the "New Posts" list, the latest posts to these threads were made on Sept. 5, 2008 by...me when, according to the board, my last visit was on the 4th. I checked out the posts in the two threads and found that in the threads, the posts were stamped correctly (August 5, 2008 and August30, 2008) and that they were indeed my posts.

Whew, for a minute there, I thought somebody or something managed to log in to my account or the software allowed for two users sharing the same username.

    Could this be a glitch?

PS: This "glitch" appeared in the listing too when I used the search features to look for these threads.
But that's just me. Hope that helped though...

I think on polls, a vote counts as a new post.

Hmm, so does that mean if somebody votes and doesn't post any comment, the thread would get stamped with the time and date the vote was cast and show the last post bearing this stamp in the listing even if the last post, in reality, has a different stamp?

OT: @murr1525 - that was quick. hehe.

          I think that's correct.

And yes, a vote in a poll bumps the poll to the top of the "Recent Threads" list on the forum homepage even if there is no new messages posted to the thread.
