Pictures from "Open Garage" - September 18th, 2008
I think I saw Mike getting off the 5 south on Thursday at about 11am. Was that you Mike?
Ryan
Is this what you saw?
Thursday morning I picked up a transmission and an engine from my friend Scott, and Scott gave me an old 9' surfboard that's seen better days. It's now mounted horizontally on top of the rollbar in the Jimmy waiting for it's twin.
Can you say...
Sunblock?
My son is now President of the Mojave Desert Surf Club

You didn't have the surf board yet, from what I could see. But it was definitely a guy that looked like you with the same exact car and roll bar, had a white shirt on. You were going south on the 405 about 11am.

Attack life, it's going to kill you anyway. This is your life. Choose to live it to the fullest.
How many of those trucks with the same color and rollbar can there be in the LA area?
And a factory rollbar too boot... it's actually out of a 1972 Blazer but fits just the same and it actually fits inside the removable hardtop which will likely never be bolted back on again.

What about when it rains? Does Quik Out get it out?
This is my 4th Blazer/Jimmy, all of which had the tops removed shorty after purchase and rarely go back on, even in Oregon.
The fist thing you do is remove all the carpet, now if it rains you don't have the water being held by the carpet where it can rust out the floors. The water will find places to run out and what doesn't run out will evaporate.
Leather seats are best as cows never complain when it rains and there are some remedies for keeping your seats from getting saturated when it rains. I usually keep a 6x8 or 8x10 plastic tarp under the passenger seat with some bungee cords during rainy season and it only takes a few minutes to cover the vital areas from the rain, (the seats).
If you're caught in the rain you just drive... it's only when you're stopped that you really get wet.

My dad had one of those older FJ Toyota Land Cruiser, the top was always off of it and the front window was always down when hunting in Douglas County and Josephine County (Oregon). We got rained on a lot and same thing, dad kept driving, only when we had to stop did we get soaked.
Good times.
