  • UQD With Dust Repellant

This is a product I would buy by the pallet. I can't keep my black paint on my Camry free from dust for more that a few minutes at a time. Drives me batty fighting a losing battle with with dust.

Dido. my dark blue is terrible. i wash it and 1 hour later its covered with dust. sometimes i wash it, then park it in the garage and it still gets dust all over.

sometimes i can take the air compressor and give a good blast all around and it usually takes the dust off.

i would stock up with this type of product

Yes. Then they would have a product that is both hydrophobic and amathophobic.

Save some money, buy the #135 from the pro line. Get the gallon.

I do have a gallon of #135 (and two bottles of UQD) . But it's not the cost it's the inability to keep the car dust free for more than 5 minutes at a time.

Maybe it needs some anti-static properties?

not sure if it is possible... Such a thin layer is left that I don't know how it could kick dust off the hood in any way. Its just like beading water... nothing really can toss the water off, but it sure can make it easy to take off when the car starts driving. In the case of dust it shows when you wash it that it comes up quite easily.

EDIT: Looks like I stand corrected! Thx for the heads up.

The old MPPP had some anti-static properties to it IIRC. Black Magic is actually adding this to their products now as well, and it is my understanding that they work pretty good (especially the Matte Tire Gel). Matte finish on the tires and dash, that work at repelling (maybe "not attracting" would be better) dust.

hhmmmm 3M might be able to assist here, I'm pretty sure their Perfect-it Show Car paste wax has antistatic properties.

                    Re: UQD With Dust Repellant

Part of the problem is air-borne dust particles have their own static charge and you can't remove this static charge from all the dust in the air.

Been told clear coats style paints also have their own level of static charge too...

Need a Forcefield of some kind... someting you can turn on and off like a car alarm...

I'd get the force field option on my 100k car!

You think it would fall under the consumer line? Maybe we'll see some forcefield next to the QD at our local Autozones and Kragens.
