Another fun and educational class at Meguiar's Garage!

We had an excellent turnout with 15 energized forum members in our class today!

Here's our victim, err I mean our demo car, a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt in which the paint looks like it's from 1987... that is completely toast with tons of swirls and scratches and factory orange peel.

    Classroom portion getting head knowledge...

Garage portion getting hands-on skills and experience...

    Having fun too!

Thank you everyone, this was a fun class, hope everyone had as good a time as I did!

Thank you Barry Meguiar for having these classes! A big thank you to goes to Mike for doing these classes and finding a suitable patient. I certainly increased my comfort level with some new techniques and then being ably to apply them.
I wanted to thank Harry, Erik, and Mike for being patient with me while I forgot their names for most of the day.

Mike thanks for hosting today's class, althought I've been to the several classes before, I always seem to leave with a few more tips/techniques that I didn't know before. Thanks again Mike, it's always fun to visit the garage.

I have to echo Jeff here, thank you Barry Maguiar for providing these classes for us. Mike Phillips you do such an outstanding job instructing these classes. I enjoyed every minute of class. The time just flew by.

I'm still a newbee when it comes to detailing, but now I would feel comfortable doing some spot wet sanding on my car if necessary to make a needed correction.

Jeff, don't worry about forgetting my name. It was good talking with you.

Harry, thanks for the bottle of Final Touch and for showing me how you keep that Tundra swirl free. The paint on your truck is gorgeous.

                  Mike,

Great class! I really enjoyed the class room instruction and the hands-on session showing us how to hand sand, machine sand & work with a Rotary Buffer.

After the class, I am definitely more comfortable with sanding & using a rotary buffer. Can't wait to apply what I've learned.

I really think its great Meguiar's offers this type of class to its end-users. This is the stuff that differentiates Meguiar's from its competitors.

After learning the correct procedure for hand sanding with a sanding backing pad we moved onto using a DA Sander to Machine Sand. We keep the classes small so everyone gets time behind the tools...

After sanding, it's time to learn how to use the rotary buffer to remove the sanding marks, this includes proper technique for picking up a bead of product, buffing the product to remove the sanding marks and working clean by removing spent product off the surface and cleaning your pad in-between buffing out section.

In order to use our W5000 Double Sided Wool Pad you MUST use an adaptor... see the below link for more information,

Next we turn our forum members loose with the rotary buffer!
