Plastic: Yes or No?

The Prius comes with plastic rings around the wheel(dont ask me why). I have been running without them from Day 3 and havent had any problems until I started going to downtown just about every day. Now the front right tire and right rear have some curb rash Rings on or off?

A little more 'spotry' looking with them off - i would guess they help fuel mileage/reduce drag or something like that who knows!!

Reduce plastic as much as possible imo... just be careful while parking! If you have to get out of the car, check, then move again it will be worth it.

Would imagine they do serve a purpose as gb387 mentioned possibly in higher speeds. For me on a car like this it wouldn't really make a difference so I would leave them on. These cars are made for efficiency and if it helps with them on then I would say leave them on. Reminds me of the formula 1 cars how they have a wheel cover which for them it really does make a difference with reducing drag.

Been thining about getting some moon discs and riveting them to the plastic rings to get this look if i feel like getting a futuristic look

A small stick-on, blind-spot convex mirror placed on your passenger side mirror might help reduce or eliminate the curb rash

If you're going for looks, off.

If you're having trouble with curb rash, on. A small mirror as suggested and some practice might also help.

I really prefer them off, not really sure that they make a difference, and if you dont notice a difference then definitely off. Just be more careful when parking

Im assuming you bought the car not for its looks, but for its fuel efficiency. So On.
