  • Editing Posts?

Did you guys decide to remove the edit feature? I noticed that I could not edit posts today. I figured maybe you removed it but I'm not sure so I asked! Thanks.

EDIT: Haha. Well, looks like I can edit this post. Is there a time limit? If so, how long? Thanks.

    Re: Editing Posts?

The editing time limit is usually around 30 minutes.

Sometimes we tighten down because some people will join, ask a question and then after they get answers change their original questions so that the answers don't read right.

Why they do this I don't know but it's usually not appreciated, so we tighten the editing time down for a while and then after the problem is gone we relax it again for the benefit of all.

Just some quirky forum world strangeness...

      Re: Editing Posts?

The limit was at 20 and we moved it back to 30 minutes.

For major accidental goofs a person can always e-mail a Moderator or myself and ask for help and we're happy to comply. The limit on editing messages is to prevent nefarious or malicious actions which luckily is rare and far and few in-between.

          Re: Editing Posts?

once I posted something that later I regret posting that reply because I thought it was ridicules. I edit that post after a month maybe.

Well, It was very needed to be edited for the reason mentioned above.

Now, I need to think twice before posting

Had the same problem - messed up one of my posts today and couldn't fix.

I'll set it back to 30 minutes.

Anytime you see it reduced like that it's usually for a reason.
