Hello everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself and publicly admit that I have a problem... My name is Greg and it seems that I obsess over shiny objects.
I recently purchased a 2008 Chevy Suburban (1-year old) when gas prices peaked at over $4.50/gal (I look like a genius now!). It was so shiny when I picked it up from the dealer and I couldn't have been happier with the way it gleamed while sitting on my driveway. But then... I washed it, and to my horror I saw these little tiny circular scratches all over the finish. I chalked it up to some sort of visual aphrodisiac that they dealer sprays on the cars to blind you and make you buy, but was also faced with the real possibility that I put them there.
So I went on line and found myself at Meguiar's looking for something, but not really knowing what. I have used some of their basic products before, but had no clue where to start looking for serious help. That's when I found MOL and my obsession began.
Skipping to the end of the story, or the beginning depending on your point of view, I am now a registered MOL user and have read nearly every section of the forum (even how to start my own detailing business!). I have re-thought the entire way I wash cars. So I started washing with 2 buckets, I went out and bought the smooth clay kit, DC#1, DC#2, NXT wax 2.0 to practice on my other car and I have ordered a G110 special kit from ADS with some #80, MF towels, bonnets, trim detailer, and a bunch of other junk I probably don't need. What I need is help!
So, thanks in advance for your help and advice. I look forward to working through these tough times with your help.
Greg D.
P.S. My other car is a 1998 Honda Civic HX that needs some TLC. It should benefit the most from my time spent here. I am just hoping to keep the truck on the straight and narrow.
