  • Car Wash: Rinse technique question

When I rinse my car during a wash, I try to make sure I get all the soap off the car by wiping the car w/ a clean wet wash mitt. Is this unnecessary or will rinsing with water alone get rid of all the soap?

    Thanks.

I think that is a bad idea because you could be instilling swirls in to the paint. Rinsing with water works well.

      Probably not needed....

I give a good strong rinse over the car to get the soap off, then go back and flow the water over the finish to get as much water off as possible, then dry.

I agree with others, rinsing should be good enough.

          Rinsing is good enough!

Don't need to greaten the chance of instilling swirls and scratches into your paint's finish.

I agree with the others - like mentioned above. A final rinse with an 'open flow' (nozzle removed) will get all the soap off and make drying faster and easier.

Yes, flooding works great! Sheets the water off with no beads left.

Stick with the flooding method of rinsing. Works great and less chance of swirls and scratches.
